Some types of obsidian include: Apache tears (clear, black-brown pebbles of obsidian), mahogany obsidian (with reddish-brown stripes), snowflake obsidian (with white or gray flecks), and rainbow obsidian. The stone sold as blue obsidian is not a natural type of obsidian (volcanic glass) but blue colored synthetic glass.
